About Sterkfontein Cave

The Cradle of Humankind UNESCO site. Over 500 hominid fossils found here. Mrs Ples, a 2.1 million year old Australopithecus, was found in 1947. Little Foot is another famous skeleton still being excavated. Continuous excavation since 1945.
