About Wookey Hole

A famous show cave on the southern edge of the Mendip Hills. The legend of the Witch of Wookey draws visitors to a human shaped stalagmite. The first successful cave dive in Britain happened here in 1935. The River Axe still flows through the chambers. Hand paper making has continued at the village mill since the 1600s.
