About Movile Cave

A cave sealed from the surface for 5.5 million years. Discovered during geological surveys near the Black Sea coast. The ecosystem runs on chemosynthesis by sulfur bacteria instead of sunlight. Home to over 50 unique species found nowhere else on Earth. Water scorpions, cave leeches, and transparent millipedes fill the darkness. Access is strictly limited to protect the fragile habitat.
